
In a new operation of territorial control and fight against illegal activities, the Ecuadorian Army located and neutralized material used for illegal mining in the sector of El Pablo, El Chical parish, Tulcán canton, Carchi province.
Based on information provided by Military Intelligence, Army personnel carried out an operation to control arms, ammunition and explosives, in coordination with the Agency for Regulation and Control of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources (ARCOM).
During the raking of the area, equipment used in illegal gold mining was destroyed:
