Honduran Armed Forces locate illegal marijuana plantation in mountainous area of Colón

The Honduran Armed Forces, through teams from the Strategic Information Directorate, in coordination with members of the Joint Task Force Xatruch and the Military Police, located and secured a suspected marijuana plantation in a mountainous area of the community of Tapiquil, municipality of Tocoa, department of Colón.

Approximately 30,000 plants were seized by military troops in Tocoa

The discovery covers an area of six blocks of land, in which approximately 30,000 plants were found. The operation is part of the sustained actions against drug trafficking led by the Armed Forces in regions that are difficult to access.

The spokesman for the Armed Forces, Captain Mario Rivera, confirmed that investigations are continuing to find those responsible for this illegal activity, reaffirming the institutional commitment to security and the frontal fight against organized crime.
