
Alias Elkin or El Negro, accused of coordinating homicides and other criminal activities, was arrested along with two other subjects in operations carried out in Tenerife and El Banco.
As part of the Ayacucho Plus Operational Campaign Plan, troops from the Second Brigade of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police and the Sijín, captured three alleged members of the Clan del Golfo Organized Armed Group. The apprehensions took place in two separate operations carried out in the municipalities of Tenerife and El Banco, in the department of Magdalena.
In Tenerife, two individuals allegedly belonging to the Sergio Antonio Carrascal Gómez substructure of the Clan del Golfo were captured in flagrante delicto. The detainees face charges of manufacturing, trafficking or illegal possession of firearms or ammunition.
The second operation, carried out in the municipality of El Banco, resulted in the capture of aliases Elkin o el NegroThe suspect, who was a member of the Edwin José Sierra Regino substructure, is said to have been a member of the organization for more than three years. According to intelligence information, this individual had been with the organization for more than three years and was allegedly involved in crimes such as selective homicide, drug trafficking and carrying weapons for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.
Alias Elkin or El Negro He was also responsible for coordinating criminal activities in the south of the department, consolidating a network of intimidation and violence against the civilian population and rival structures.

The National Army reiterated its commitment to the dismantling of illegal armed structures and the reestablishment of security in the south and center of Magdalena. Joint operations will continue to be carried out to guarantee the tranquility of the inhabitants and reduce the influence of the Clan del Golfo in this region of the country.
