In a new blow against illegal armed groups, troops of the Colombian National Army located a clandestine warehouse with high explosives in the village of Las Brisas, municipality of Lourdes, Norte de Santander.

During a joint operation with the National Police, members of Infantry Battalion No. 13 General Custodio García Rovira discovered six plastic containers containing about 170 kilograms of amonal, a powerful explosive allegedly belonging to the Juan Fernando Porras Martínez Front of the ELN organized armed group.

The discovery was made possible thanks to military intelligence work, which led to the location of the illegal warehouse. This result represents a significant advance in the fight against terrorism, by neutralizing possible attacks that this group could have carried out in the region.

The troops of the Thirtieth Brigade continue to carry out sustained operations in Norte de Santander, reaffirming their commitment to the institutional control of the territory and the protection of national security.
