Defense Minister reaffirms commitment to national defense industry

The Minister of Defense, Margarita RoblesThe meeting was held on Monday with executives from eighteen Spanish companies in the security and defense sector, in the framework of the Industrial and Technological Plan for Security and DefenseThe company's commitment to the modernization of strategic capabilities and the promotion of domestic industry was reinforced.

Meeting with the main players in the sector

During the meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, Robles thanked the companies for their active participation in the latest edition of FEINDEFThe event's success is a reflection of the potential of the Spanish industry in the international arena.

"Spanish industry has come out of the event greatly strengthened. Everyone's effort has been incredible and has projected a solid image of Spain abroad," said the minister, who was accompanied by the Secretary of State for Defense, Amparo Valcarce.

A forward-looking strategic plan

The Minister stressed that the Industrial and Technological Plan is the result of a sustained effort by the Ministry, with many hours of planning and coordination: "Nothing has been left to chance. We have made a firm commitment and we will continue to move forward," said Robles.

The Plan contemplates priority programs led by Defense and is based on close collaboration with key companies in the sector to guarantee its execution and sustainability.

Participating companies and objectives of the plan

Among the companies present at the meeting were such industry leaders as Indra, Navantia, Airbus, Telefónica, GMV, Hisdesat, Expal, Sener, GDELS-SBS, Instalaza, ITP Aero, Escribano, TESS, Arquimea, Urovesa, Aicox, Sapa Placencia and Grupo Oesía.

The objectives of the Plan focus on:

  • Modernize national defense capabilities.
  • Reduce external technological dependence.
  • Promote innovation, training and dual technologies.
  • Strengthen the national industrial fabric with territorial cohesion and employment generation.
  • Consolidate Spain as a reliable partner within the European Union.

Collaboration between the Ministry and the private sector remains a strategic pillar to ensure the country's technological development and sovereignty in security and defense.
