Strike against drug trafficking in Peru: criminal network with laboratories, weapons and drugs in Loreto dismantled

Joint operation resulted in the capture of three Colombian nationals and the seizure of cocaine hydrochloride, marijuana, weapons of war and communication equipment.

Integrated action in the Amazon region

The intervention, carried out on May 17 and 18focused on an action of interdiction against illicit drug trafficking in hard-to-reach areas of the Peruvian Amazon. Authorities located and deactivated two rustic laboratories used in the production of cocaine hydrochloride y cocaine base paste (CBP).

Arrests and arsenal seized

During the operation, the following were three Colombian nationals arrested in Colombiaallegedly linked to the criminal organization. In addition, a arsenal of weapons and explosivesconsisting of:

  • 1 Amet UZI pistol (Series NL 64414)
  • 2 shotguns without series
  • 1 Pietro Beretta 9 mm pistol (without series)
  • 1 Bersa 380 pistol (Series C90230)
  • 3 hand grenades

Ammunition of various calibers was also seized:

  • 32 12-gauge cartridges
  • 14 cartridges 16 caliber
  • 7 cartridges 9×17 caliber
  • 11 9×19 caliber cartridges

Drugs and seized material

In terms of illicit substances, the seizure results were conclusive:

  • 8.7 kg of cocaine hydrochloride
  • 3.8 kg of marijuana
  • 91 kg of cocaine base paste (PBC)

In addition, the following were incinerated 5,564 kg of chemical inputs used in drug production, including: acetone, sulfuric acid, alcohol, activated carbon, caustic soda, sodium bisulfite and sodium permanganate.

Technology at the service of drug trafficking

During the operation, high-end communication equipment that allowed the drug traffickers to maintain a remote connection was also found:

  • 2 Motorola radios with chargers
  • 1 Starlink satellite antenna
  • 6 cell phones

In addition, the following were found metal plates with high relief inscriptionsused as drug marking stampsthe existence of a organized and professionalized production structure.

State commitment in the fight against drugs
