Recognition of silent commitment in defense: civilian and military personnel decorated

In an emotional ceremony held this Tuesday, more than thirty members of the civilian and military personnel of the Ministry of Defense have been distinguished with white crosses for military, naval and aeronautical merit. Minister Margarita Robles presided over the ceremony, in which she thanked them for their dedication and professionalism, key to the proper functioning of the Department and the Armed Forces.

Essential work, although not very visible

During her speech, Robles praised the "silent but essential" work carried out by these professionals in their various posts, stressing that their dedication strengthens the work of the Ministry of Defense every day:

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you do, because if this house works and the Armed Forces are better every day, it is because of you."

Different areas of the Ministry represented

The awardees belong to key areas such as the Cabinets of the Minister, the Office of Institutional Communication and Press, the Secretary of State for Defense, the Undersecretary of Defense and the General Secretariat for Defense Policy. Their work, although far from the public spotlight, is considered fundamental for the planning, organization and support to the Department's operations.

Recognition of merit and dedication

The white crosses awarded symbolize merit, constancy and loyalty to public service. With this gesture, the Ministry recognizes not only concrete achievements, but also the sustained effort and spirit of service that characterizes its personnel.
