In Popayán, 79 young people complete their academic training thanks to a joint program between the Third Division and the FUNDETEC institute.
A total of 79 regular soldiers of the National Army who perform their military service in the department of Cauca have reached a significant achievement: obtaining their bachelor's degree. The graduation ceremony took place in the city of Popayán and was attended by their families, marking a milestone in the institutional commitment to the integral development of its troops.
Training in only three months
This academic program, developed by the FUNDETEC institute in coordination with the Third Army Division, allowed young people to complete their high school education in an intensive period of three months. This is the first time that a promotion of this type has been carried out in the capital of Cauca, consolidating a model that has been implemented in other regions for seven years.
"Today we are celebrating the graduation of 79 SL18 in an approximate time of three months. This is the first time this has been done in Popayán and represents a great achievement for us as an institution," said Yulieth Marcela Carrillo Parra, national coordinator of the FUNDETEC institute.
Commitment, effort and vision for the future
Private Luna, one of the outstanding graduates, shared his testimony with emotion: "The process has been arduous, but thanks to God and the Army I was able to graduate. If you have a clear goal, you can achieve it. I encourage all young people to join the National Army; here they can build their life project".
The success of this initiative was made possible by the willingness of the Third Division command and its units, which facilitated the balance between mission responsibilities and the time needed for academic training.
More than defense, social transformation
This type of project reinforces the role of the National Army not only as a guarantor of security, but also as an engine of social and educational transformation. The institution thus reaffirms its commitment to the integral formation of its men and women, for the benefit of both the institution and the country.
