Soria will host the new defense technology center 'Numant-IA'.

The Ministry of Defense and the City Council of Soria have sealed a historic agreement for the creation of the Center for Advanced Defense Technology Capabilities, 'Numant-IA', which will be located in the industrial park of Valcorba.

This new center will be a national reference in the development of advanced technology applied to security and defense, with the possibility of transfer to the civil sector. The collaboration protocol was signed by the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, and the Mayor of Soria, Carlos Martínez, who emphasized that the project will boost the industrial and technological fabric of the region.

The 37,000 square meters of land ceded will allow the installation of this innovative center which, in addition to strengthening the strategic capabilities of the Armed Forces, will contribute to the development of areas affected by the demographic challenge. Robles underlined the importance of including Soria in the technological transformation led by Artificial Intelligence, and thanked the people of Soria for welcoming the project.

The creation of 'Numant-IA' is part of the Ministry's strategy to modernize its operational capabilities, promoting territorial decentralization and fostering collaboration with local administrations. Work is scheduled to begin by the end of 2026.
