Visit to CACOM 5 in Rionegro strengthens professional training and inter-institutional integration of the Armed Forces.
As part of the academic program of the General Staff Course (CEM) 2025, a group of 54 senior officers of the Colombian Armed Forces visited the facilities of the Combat Air Command No. 5 (CACOM 5) of the Colombian Aerospace Force. This training day is part of the instruction process carried out by the War College.
During the visit, the officers in the rank of Major and Lieutenant Commander belonging to the Colombian Aerospace Force, the National Army and the National Navy, learned first-hand about the operational, mission and response capabilities of CACOM 5, a strategic unit with responsibility in the departments of Antioquia, Chocó and southern Córdoba.
The tour was led by the CACOM 5 commander, who presented the main capabilities of the air component in defense, security and humanitarian support scenarios, highlighting its role in joint and interagency operations.
During the day, the attending officers participated in a static exhibition of aircraft and operational equipment, where they shared experiences on training, maintenance, and the challenges of air operations in difficult access regions.
These activities allow trainees to complement their academic vision with practical knowledge of the capabilities of the Colombian aerospace power, thus reinforcing interoperability between the different Forces.
