Pacific Operations General Command celebrates 45 years of service to Peru

During an emotional ceremony in Callao, the anniversary of one of the most relevant operational structures of the Navy was commemorated.

Track record of commitment and maritime defense

The General Command of Pacific Operations celebrated its 45th anniversary of creationThe ceremony was attended by the Force Commanders, the Commander of the Second Naval Zone, master supervisory technicians, military and civilian personnel, and was presided over by the Commander of the Second Naval Zone. 45 years of operating history

During his speech, Vice Admiral Bravo de Rueda recalled the origins of this institution, which was created on June 11, 1980 by means of Decree Law No. 23088 as General Command of Naval OperationsThe company later adopted its current name.

Under his command are key units such as the Surface Forces, Submarines, Marines, Naval Infantry, Naval Aviation, Special Operations Forcesas well as various Naval ZonesThe functions of this unit are aimed at guaranteeing the operability and dissuasive presence of the Navy in the maritime domain.

International exercises and humanitarian support

The Vice Admiral also highlighted the participation of the forces under his command in multinational exercises such as UNITAS, RIMPAC, PANAMAX, SIFOREX, SUBDIEX and SOLIDAREXand the logistical support provided for the deployment of the U.S. Third Fleet through the B.A.P. Tacnain REPARNAV-2024 and RASEX 2025-I operations.

He also highlighted the execution of joint, national and combined trainings, as well as the crucial role played by the Rapid Intervention Disaster Response Companies (CIRD) in the emergency response actions, in coordination with the National Disaster Risk Management System (SINAGERD).

Recognition of the vocation of service

Finally, the Vice Admiral expressed his appreciation to the enlisted personnel for their commitment, professionalism and discipline, qualities which, he said, have been decisive in the successful accomplishment of the institutional mission.

The ceremony concluded with the intonation of the Hymn of the Peruvian Navyreaffirming the legacy and values that sustain the work of this strategic unit for national defense.
