In a joint operation, the Military Forces and the National Police located a laboratory valued at more than 7 billion pesos, destined for the production of cocaine hydrochloride in Tib\u00fa, Norte de Santander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of operations against illicit economies, troops from the National Army's Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats (CONAT) dismantled a clandestine ELN complex used for cocaine production. The operation was carried out in the Catatumbo region, specifically in a rural area of the municipality of Tib\u00fa, Norte de Santander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thanks to military intelligence information, soldiers from Ground Operations Battalion No. 47, with support from Aviation Brigade No. 33 and the Colombian Aerospace Force, were able to locate the structure. The urgent actions were carried out by National Police officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the operation, 330 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, more than 700 gallons of cocaine in solution, 459 gallons of coca base paste and nearly 2,500 gallons of liquid chemicals were seized, in addition to 290 kilograms of solid supplies. Approximately 2,000 markers presumably used to identify drug shipments were also found at the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The complex, valued at more than US$1.6 million (approximately 7 billion Colombian pesos), had the necessary infrastructure for large-scale processing of narcotics, dealing a serious blow to the finances of the Luis Enrique Le\u00f3n Guerra Front of the GAO ELN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The authorities warned about the serious environmental effects of this type of illegal infrastructure, which contaminates water sources and affects ecosystems due to the indiscriminate use of chemicals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The National Army reaffirmed its commitment to neutralizing the actions of illegal armed groups, eradicating their sources of financing and protecting the environment.
