The Army Awards, established in 1945 and reformulated in its current format in 1963, are one of the longest-running cultural awards in Spain. This year's edition focused on the event \"From Pavia to Breda (1525-1625)\", in commemoration of the V Centenary of the Battle of Pavia and the IV Centenary of the Surrender of Breda, two key episodes in the history of the Spanish Tercios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The winners were selected in multiple categories such as painting, military miniatures, photography, video, journalism and research. Schools were also awarded for their pedagogical work on military history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this edition, a Special Distinction was awarded to the United States Army, on the occasion of its 250th anniversary, for its long historical link with Spain since its origin as the Continental Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
