{"id":2639,"date":"2025-07-17T16:12:19","date_gmt":"2025-07-17T14:12:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/defensanews.com\/?p=2639"},"modified":"2025-07-17T16:12:24","modified_gmt":"2025-07-17T14:12:24","slug":"la-academia-central-de-la-defensa-duplica-en-una-decada-sus-graduados-en-los-cuerpos-comunes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/defensanews.com\/en\/the-central-defense-academy-doubles-its-common-corps-graduates-in-a-decade\/","title":{"rendered":"The Central Defense Academy doubles its graduates in the Common Corps in a decade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>155 new officers and NCOs<\/strong> have received today their Royal Dispatches in a ceremony presided over by the Minister of Defense, <strong>Margarita Robles<\/strong>He congratulated the graduates for starting \"a professional career with which you are going to serve your country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the first time in the history of the Academy, <strong>women outnumber men<\/strong> among the new graduates, marking a milestone in the military education of the <strong>Common Bodies<\/strong> of the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-un-crecimiento-del-131-en-una-decada\">Growth of 131% over a decade<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Compared to the nearly 70 students who graduated twelve years ago, the current figure represents <strong>an increase of 131%<\/strong> in the number of graduates, consolidating the Academy as a training pillar of excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Minister Robles stressed that \"now the most difficult part begins: to serve Spain, each within his or her specialty, at all times and in all places\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Breakdown of graduates by corps<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of the 155 graduates, <strong>most of them belong to the Military Health Corps.<\/strong>The breakdown is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Medicine<\/strong>: 38<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nursing<\/strong>: 33<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Psychology<\/strong>: 13<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pharmacy<\/strong>: 9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Veterinary<\/strong>: 3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dentistry<\/strong>: 1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, they graduate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Military Legal Corps<\/strong>: 16<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Intervention Corps<\/strong>: 12<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Music Specialty (non-commissioned officers)<\/strong>: 30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Women at the forefront of the health corps<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Female participation has been key to this growth. In specialties such as <strong>Pharmacy<\/strong> (90%), <strong>Psychology and Nursing<\/strong> (70%) and <strong>Medicine<\/strong> (52%), <strong>women dominate enrollment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also noteworthy is its presence in <strong>Intervention<\/strong> (67%).
