The FAC consolidates its regional leadership in military pilot training, with the participation of Colombian and foreign cadets.
In a ceremony held at the Combat Air Command No. 1, located in Puerto Salgar, Cundinamarca, 14 Colombian cadets and one cadet from the Dominican Republic Air Force successfully completed the Primary Flight Course in Cessna 172 Skyhawk aircraft, under the instruction of the International Fixed Wing School of the Colombian Aerospace Force.
This achievement represents a fundamental milestone on the road to becoming a military pilot, and is a source of pride for their families, regions of origin and instructors, who closely accompanied the professional development of the young men.
The Primary Course is structured in three phases: pre only, progress e instruments. Subsequently, the cadets move on to the Basic Flight Coursewhich comprises six fundamental stages: pre only, transition, instruments, night, training, navigations y NVG flights (with night vision scopes).
These phases respond to international aeronautical training standards, combining rigorous theory and flight hours in simulators and real aircraft.
Cadets who complete the Primary Course are ready to continue their training on TH-67 helicopters, or fixed-wing aircraft such as the T-27 Tucano or the modern T-6C Texan II.
With this process, the Colombian Aerospace Force reaffirms its role as a regional benchmark in military pilot instructionThe company has a high academic level and international cooperation, consolidating links with sister countries such as the Dominican Republic.
The FAC continues to train highly qualified professionals committed to the defense of national airspace and the strengthening of Colombia's strategic capabilities at the regional level.
