
As part of the Army Aviation Veteran's Day, an emotional ceremony was held at the Campo de Mayo Military Aerodrome in honor of the men and women who served in the Malvinas War.
The ceremony had a special remembrance for First Lieutenants Roberto Mario Fiorito and Juan Carlos Buschiazzo, and for Sergeant Raúl Dimotta, who lost their lives in combat during a rescue mission aboard the SA-330 Puma AE-505 helicopter, hit by enemy fire while trying to assist the fishing vessel. The ceremony began with the presentation of the troops to the director of Army Aviation, followed by the singing of the Argentine National Anthem. Afterwards, a religious invocation was made and a minute of silence was observed in honor of the fallen in combat.
One of the most emotional moments was the reading of the resolution designating Colonel (R) Malvinas War Veteran Enrique Magnaghi as honorary chief of the 601st Assault Helicopter Battalion, in recognition of his outstanding career and participation in the South Atlantic conflict.
The ceremony ended with an impressive air and land parade, in which both active and veteran soldiers participated, reaffirming the commitment to keep alive the memory of those who gave their lives for the homeland.
This tribute is part of the institutional activities aimed at recognizing the courage, commitment and dedication of the Army Aviation personnel, preserving the legacy of the heroes who forged with their sacrifice one of the most moving pages of Argentine history.
